Michael Peck's latest body of work, "This May Hurt", is currently on display at Metro Gallery in Melbourne. Much as the title implies, the show is more-so based on a feeling, a dreaded type of anticipation, than it is an actual or tangible antagonistic event. With a muted palette, faceless children, foreboding lighting and desolate landscapes, Peck perfectly captures the pre-cringe: the moment of realization that this is probably going to actually hurt, a lot.
